Since 2007, le Partenariat aims to promote sustainable development in all its decentralised cooperation programmes, as well as NGO programmes. We initiate good practices and innovations to make the Saint-Louis Region a carbon neutral area, which will be less affected by environmental disorder.

Saint-Louis is one of the five regions of the Ferlo cartel (North of Senegal). This Sahelian area is very fragile and threatened by climate change. The city of Saint-Louis is the ambassador at the United Nations for the Resilient Cities. That’s why Saint-Louis and Matam are orientated toward a local sustainable development and take necessary measures to face the effects of current and future climate changes.

Areas of intervention: conservation of mangrove biodiversity, reducing and recycling waste, promotion of renewable energies, environmental education, implementation of demonstrative projects, creation of partner networks…
